Opportunistic Passive RF DCL Technologies
Passive RF detection systems that exploit mobile cell network, HDTV and other digital RF waveforms. Digital waveforms, from VHF to millimeter waves, in virtually all relevant areas of operation offer a novel and distributed source for Detection, Classification and Localization. This is viable using existing low cost commercial hardware processing technology from “Software Defined Radio” and “Internet of Things” markets. These classes of low cost, compact and low power devices are adapted to detect airborne (cooperative or non-cooperative) vehicles and measurement of atmospheric and metrological properties by creating phenomenologically based time-frequency representations. Processing these time-frequency representations with Deep Convolutional Neural Networks trained using Transfer Learning enables classification, localization and tracking of air vehicles, and atmospheric and meteorological properties.
